“Volunteer Nicaragua” is a not-for-profit volunteering organisation dedicated to improving the natural environment and quality of life of the communities of the Miraflor Moropotente Protected Area in Nicaragua. This is an area of great natural beauty, which is of international importance for its cloud forest habitat and its associated wildlife. Our aim is to develop understanding and appreciation of species, habitats and ecosystems to inform and undertake effective conservation management and the sustainable use of natural resources. We work in partnership with the management authority of the Reserve, Foro Miraflor, to provide resources for a range of environmental and community projects.
